Overview[edit]

The #deca.fade is a quick, fairly middle-of-road M5 which uses EEMPCs as its only weapon, making it quite powerful for its class. It's still a fairly low threat.

Background[edit]

Originally terraforming drones deployed from the #deca CPU ship, these ships appear to have been modified along with #deca to perform a defensive role.

Physical Characteristics[edit]

The #deca.fade has a spindly, blocky construction with a pair of trapezoidal fins at the ends of stubby wings.

Combat[edit]

The #deca.fade makes a poor choice for the player in combat, especially compared to Commonwealth M5s, which can be better shielded, quicker, of comparable hull price, and fully outfitted cost a fraction to deploy. Still, this ship's main advantages are its speed and alpha strike capability - by quickly swooping in and dumping its laser generator with M3-class weaponry, it can deal a large amount of damage in short order, before quickly retreating to recharge for another pass. Just as well, since due its low shielding and typical poor M5 hull strength, even a glancing blow from the ~30k Cr PAC would maim this (fully kitted) over 2 million credit investment!

Equipment[edit]

The #deca.fade mounts only the EEMPC and Poltergeist missiles.

Availability[edit]

The #deca.fade is available at either of the two Aldrin Ship Production Bases in Aldrin orbit.

Suggested Roles[edit]

Possessing both a fair speed and cargo hold for its class and being reasonably priced, could make a decent-enough courier of small items between factories/ships. However, due to the obscenely massive outlay to equip this (M5!) ship, not even counting the poor shielding or difficulty to acquire its weapons in the first place, a #deca.fade makes an exceptionally poor choice of combat ship for the player, unless specifically used (carefully) as a player ship.
