[edit] Overview
The heavy Hydra is greatly improved over its predecessor, with massively superior generators which are on par with the Terran corvette ones. It has very good turret coverage, along with good speed and weapon compatibility, though poor manouverability and merely sufficient cargo space. Its aesthetics are good, making it a good personal yacht, since its freight space is enough to carry plentiful energy for jumping. Its weaponry is effective, with six main slots and four turret guns mounted across two turrets on the lower front and back of the ship. It can use Boron Ion weaponry, and is capable of using the Ion Pulse Generator to slow a target ship down for a short period, making it a good capturing ship to use in conjunction with an M7M. It is capable of destroying frigates with relative ease due to its good shielding, though its manouverability means it tends to stray out of blindspots. Notable is that, due to its turret placement, it can focus a large amount of fire on a target beneath it, allowing the pilot to concentrate entirely on flying.
It does, however, cost 25 million credits, almost twice as much as other heavy M6 craft. More a trophy piece than a practical combat ship due to this.
