Overview

The Paranid Nemesis corvette is a middle-of-the-road M6, with slightly superior statistics to the Argon Centaur.

Background

The Nemesis is a compact but deadly corvette; the ship packs firepower comparable with a carrier. It has powerful shields and can carry Hornet missiles. Its speed compares well with fighters', which makes it a very capable escort ship.

Physical Characteristics

The Nemesis is a flat ship, roughly oval, with two mandible-like protrusions from the front. It has average armament for the M6 class, but poor turret coverage.

Combat

The Nemesis presents some interesting possibilities for weapon configuration. It can take the common corvette-level guns up to the CIG. It can also mount the ISR, a respected corvette-class weapon that has interesting side-effects, the PBE, which has very potent shield damage but drains energy very fast, and the PBG, highly effective in close-quarters IS combat.

Like most Paranid combat ships, it has a very small freight bay, making it poor for jumpdrive use or as a missile boat, but effective as a patrol craft.

Equipment

The Nemesis can equip the weapon energy-draining Ion Shard Railgun, but lacks the generator capacity to use it effectively.

Missiles

Availability

The Nemesis is available at all Paranid Shipyards.

Suggested Roles

Lacking the cargo space to be used as a missile platform like many other M6, the Nemesis instead plies its trade as a patrol and escort craft.
