Overview[edit]
The Buzzard is heavily fortified, but suffers from extreme lethargy.
Background[edit]
The Buzzard replaced the hugely successful Teladi Hawk. Initially it lived up to its predecessor's reputation, however it has not been updated quite fast enough to remain an effective contender in combat.
Variants[edit]
Buzzard[edit]
Not featuring any fancy title, the basic version of the ship is the standard by which other variants are measured.
Buzzard Hauler[edit]
Hauler variants of ships tend to have larger cargobays and sometimes tougher defences, trading off offensive combat attributes.
Buzzard Sentinel[edit]
Sentinel variants of ships tend to be slower, but with higher total shield capacity. Sometimes the shield class is also upgraded for instance from 25 MJ to 200 MJ.
Buzzard Vanguard[edit]
Vanguard variants of ships are slightly faster and have bigger weapons generators than their regular counterparts.
Pirate Buzzard[edit]
Pirate vessels are cobbled together from parts of captured ships. While often retaining the basic shape and configuration of the host vessel, pirate ships can be wildly different from the official variant, usually featuring unsanctioned weapons. Pirates sometimes decorate their ships with a distinctive flame motif.

Physical Characteristics[edit]
Combat[edit]
The Buzzard is less than ideal as a combat craft, because there are many ships in the M3 class which it can neither outfight nor outrun, making it something of a sitting duck. This ship is only really suited to bullying smaller prey.

Suggested Roles[edit]
While the Teladi variants of the Buzzard are poor in most situations, the Pirate variants are much improved, with very good speed, weapon power and shielding. If they can be captured and reverse engineered they make an effective carrier fighter.
