Overview

The Teladi's M4+ ship is identical to the Teladi Buzzard in almost every way except for missile compatibility. It is not commonly utilized by players thanks to its poor performance for its cost.

In an effort to keep up with the other races' combat ship development, the Teladi developed the Kite to provide a quick but more heavily-armed interceptor than the Buzzard

Variants

Kite

The Kite is vulnerable to everything on the field, being so slow that it can even be outrun by many M6 class ships. It has less shielding than some regular M4s and completely misses the point of an M4+, which is to have superiority over a standard M4.

Kite Vanguard

The Kite Vanguard is totally different to its regular counterpart. With its 4 shield slots upgraded to take 25MJ shields, it is more heavily armoured than most M3 class ships. It possesses a slight advantage in speed over the original, typical of Vanguard variants. It is not available for purchase; to be used it must be capped, earned as a corporation reward, or bought secondhand.

In contrast to the regular Kite, the Vanguard variant is lethal in a short fight due to its high survivability. However, it has a tiny laser generator so can run out of puff in a longer battle.

This ship has only one strategy in a fight; attempt to stay alive, which it isn't very good at executing.

Kite Vanguard

The Kite Vanguard is granted by the NMMC upon reaching rank 7. It may also be found disguised as a Teladi High-Tech Trader.

Suggested Roles

While the standard Kite is essentially useless, the Kite Vanguard has potential as a damage sink to be used in conjunction with less durable craft - the Kite being used to attract enemy attention and draw fire away from the ships that can actually do damage. With a very poor laser generator, it has a lot of trouble causing damage alone.
