Overview[edit]
The Harrier has a large cargobay and defenses equal to lighter M4s, giving it higher survivability than most M5s, but it still will not last long in a fight and it may not have enough speed to escape an opponent it cannot fight.
Background[edit]
The Harrier replaced the older Teladi Bat some years before the beginning of the Kha'ak war.
Variants[edit]
Harrier[edit]
Not featuring any fancy title, the basic version of the ship is the standard by which other variants are measured.
Harrier Hauler[edit]
Hauler variants of ships tend to have larger cargobays and sometimes tougher defences, trading off offensive combat attributes.
Harrier Sentinel[edit]
Sentinel variants of ships tend to be slower, but with higher total shield capacity. Sometimes the shield class is also upgraded for instance from 25 MJ to 200 MJ.
Harrier Vanguard[edit]
Vanguard variants of ships are slightly faster and have bigger weapons generators than their regular counterparts.
Physical Characteristics[edit]
Combat[edit]
Even with 5MJ of shielding, this ship should not be deliberately sent into a fight as it does not have the offensive capability to contribute. Additionally it is slow enough to be easily intercepted by M4s without being fast enough to be suitable for scouting duties. There is probably a better alternative craft for most conceivable roles it might fulfill.

Suggested Roles[edit]
Some Teladi variants of the Harrier are capable of using the Mass Driver, making them very dangerous attack ships for their cost and size. The Pirate variants tend to be extremely fast, so can use their PAC compatibility to act as light interceptors.
Harriers also make good swarm fighters, as they're inexpensive and have better survivability than most M5s. A million credits puts a lot of these on the field.
