Overview[edit]
Very fast and very fragile, the Skull Crusher, also known as Scorpion by the Argon military, packs a huge punch for its class and when used correctly is a supreme interceptor.
Background[edit]
A forerunner of this ship fought in the Boron Campaign and proved to be a pilot favorite. Like most other Split ships, this design focuses on high-speed engines and increased weapons power, at the cost of shield strength. Over the years the ship has been frequently updated and rearmed in order to remain as deadly as possible.
Variants[edit]
Scorpion[edit]
Not featuring any fancy title, the basic version of the ship is the standard by which other variants are measured.
Scorpion Prototype[edit]
Prototypes are pre-production test vehicles. They often feature higher speed and shields to help protect the valuable investment.
Scorpion Vanguard[edit]
Vanguard variants of ships are slightly faster and have bigger weapons generators than their regular counterparts.
Scorpion Raider[edit]
Raider variants are faster and usually have a higher shield generator power than their regular counterparts, but trade off cargo capacity and some have reduced shield capacity despite the more powerful generator.
Scorpion Sentinel[edit]
Sentinel variants of ships tend to be slower, but with higher total shield capacity. Sometimes the shield class is also upgraded for instance from 25 MJ to 200 MJ.
Pirate Scorpion[edit]
Pirate vessels are cobbled together from parts of captured ships. While often retaining the basic shape and configuration of the host vessel, pirate ships can be wildly different from the official variant, usually featuring unsanctioned weapons. Pirates sometimes decorate their ships with a distinctive flame motif.
Physical Characteristics[edit]
Like all Split fighters, the Scorpion has a triangular, dagger-shaped hull and short, pointed wings. It differs from its big brother, the Mamba, primarily in size.
Combat[edit]
The Scorpion is the smallest craft to mount both the powerful HEPT and PBE, allowing it to demolish another M4 with relative ease. However, its weak shielding and paltry energy weapon generator is a big problem, which must be worked around either by flying it very evasively and carefully, or by using a pack that can demolish their prey before it gets a chance to fire back.
Equipment[edit]
Availability[edit]
At least one Scorpion variant is available at every Split Shipyard.

The Scorpion Raider is no longer in production. It can be bought used, and is also available as one of many ownerless ships.
Suggested Roles[edit]
A pack of these ships make good interceptors, and it is a favorite M4 amongst players with good evasive skill.
